Projects

Each eSafeT Project represents a real-world construction project. In order to produce safety documents, be it a Specification for a client or a Safety File for a Principal Contractor or a Subcontractor, a  Project must be created.

The logged-in user cannot explicitly choose the type of document to be produced. If the Project is created for a Client type company, the produced documentation will be a specification. If on the other hand the Project is created for a Contractor type company, the produced documentation will be a safety file.

The information of a Project can be entered and modified until the final documents are generated where after the project information can no longer be modified. If the project conditions change or new information is discovered after the final documentation is produced and the project needs to be updated before being used, the eSafeT technical team can unlock the project on request.

Integrity of Documents

eSafeT does not police the type, quality or relevance of data entered by the logged-in user. Instead, it will try to produce the best possible documentation based on the information provided.

There are however a few bits of information without which eSafeT cannot produce the required documentation e.g. when the Project Client detail is not supplied or the project address is left out. In this case, eSafeT will not allow the logged-in user to produce the final documentation until the relevant data has been provided.

eSafeT will warn the logged-in user if it detects the absence or non-validity of data but it is ultimately the responsibility of the logged-in user to ensure that the produced documentation is fit for purpose and legally correct.

H&S Practitioner Projects

Projects cannot be created for a H&S Practitioner type Company. Users of a H&S Practitioner type Company must first create either a Client or Contractor type company for which a Project can then be created.

Related Information

There are quite a few types of entities associated with a project. Companies and legal entities involved in a Project are called Contributors and are created both on the fly and as needed. A person providing skills or functions requiring a legal appointment is called an Appointee and is likewise created both on the fly and as needed.

The documentation is generated based on the risks associated with the physical project and is known as the Risk Profile or Risks Assessments depending on the type of document and level of risk assessment required.

Workers can also be associated with a Project.
