Contributors
A eSafeT
Contributor represents governmental departments,
companies (including individuals functioning as companies i.e. sole proprietors) as well as
the Client and Contractor
involved in a construction project.
A Contributor can be one of several predefined types
or a custom type defined by the logged-in user. The predefined types represent some general types
of entities that may be involved in a construction project like Architect or Designer.
A few of the Contributor Types are handled in a specialised
way in the system. Some types are auto-created by the system on creating a
Project and the logged-in user is restricted as to the actions that may
be executed on these Contributors.

Every company involved in a project must be added as a Contributor.
In particular, the companies of all officially appointed persons in a health and safety role must
be added as a Contributor before the appointment can be registered
with the eSafeT Project.
Auto-created Contributors
Certain Contributors are auto-created on creation of a new project. The
process and user experience is different for specification and safety file type projects.
It also differs for safety file projects with a Project Role of
Principal Contractor and safety file projects with a
Project Role of Contractor.
In addition, the user experience is different when projects are being created or changed by a
Safety Practitioner as opposed to the Client or Contractor
company owning the project.
Client User, Specification Project
If the logged-in user's is the User of a Company
registered as a Client Company Type,
a newly created Project will be a specification project. The user's
Company is the Project owner.
A Client Contributor is auto-created and the Name,
Address and
Postal Code fields of the
Contributor are
pre-populated with the Name, Address and
Postal Code of the logged-in user's
Company i.e. the client and owner of the specification project.
The Name field
cannot be modified but the
Address and Postal Code fields
can be changed at will while the project is editable
i.e. in Draft or Completed
state.
The Contact, Telephone,
Cell Phone, Fax and
Email fields of the
Contributor are pre-populated with the
Name, Telephone,
Cell Phone, Fax and
Email of the user of the Project owner
Company
with a designation of CEO, Managing Member or Proprietor.
The information can be changed at will by the logged-in user while the project is editable
i.e. in Draft or Completed
state.
Contractor Company User, Safety File Project
If the logged-in user's is the User of a Company
registered as a Contractor Company Type,
a newly created Project will be a safety file project. The user's
Company is the Project owner, also referred to in
this document as the logged-in company.
Principal Contractor User
If the Project Role is Principal Contractor,
the following Contributors are auto-created:

Client Contributor - represents the
project client and no fields are pre-populated.
Fields can and should be populated and modified by the logged-in user but the Contributor
cannot be deleted.

Principal Contractor Contributor - represents the logged-in company (Project owner). The fields are pre-populated and the
